Orders to England, Scotland and Wales

Due to new UK Business-to-Consumer VAT rules post Brexit, we can no longer ship orders to England, Scotland or Wales if the subtotal of the items is less than EURO 160,00 (shipping is not included as part of this amount). Unfortunately, these orders will therefore be cancelled. This will also automatically cancel the payment authorization – so nothing will be charged to you.

Orders to Ireland and Northern Ireland are exceptions to these VAT rules.

However, it may be worth considering that if you place an order for products with a total value of € 200,00, the order will qualify for free shipping.

These new post-Brexit rules, explained below, are very frustrating for us, as well as for our customers there.

What does Brexit mean for Salmologic and our direct customers in the UK:

Following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, there are new requirements for Danish businesses/ webshops with sales to British consumers in England, Scotland and Wales.

The UK VAT (Value added Tax) liability has been transferred for orders below € 160,00 to the seller/shipper.

Due to these new UK VAT rules, we can no longer expedite orders with a value LESS than € 160.00 (NOT including VAT, shipping and insurance), as this would entail us having to register for a UK VAT number with HMRC. It would be mandatory for salmologic to:

–       Register for VAT in the UK, with a registration- and reporting obligation in the UK every quarter.

–       Invoice UK VAT of 20% at time of sale

–       Be obligated to ship DDP (Deliver Duty Paid).

However, VAT rules are different for orders above € 160,00. We do not have to collect UK VAT in connection with the purchase and can send orders as we did pre-Brexit. Please note that the customer will be responsible for paying the UK VAT, duties and import clearance fees.
